CAAF - reporting water problems
|
CAAF (Consorcio de Abastecimiento de Agua a Fuerteventura) have introduced a WhatsApp service for reporting problems. These can be within your boundary or anywhere outside. I use it regularly to report water leaks in Tindaya spotted while I'm out walking. Our mains pipes here are dreadful, either they are on the surface and the goats nibble through knowing they can get at water or the pipes are buried amongst sharp rocks that gradually fracture the pipes. There are several roads where you can se

Where to buy - large water butt
|
Hi All,
I’m wanting to set up a gravity fed irrigation system for pot plants on a terrace. I need a large water butt, a method of attaching irrigation pipes to said water butt and a battery powered timer. All as cheaply as possible.
I don’t want this system attached to mains electric or water in any way and I’m able to site the butt at a height much greater than the plants so gravity is on my side. It will be in use when I am away from the island so want a nice big butt ....

Monthly water bills

For many years now I have received my water bills by email with no problems. Can normally download the bill from a link on the email. However, for the last two or three months, the download link does not work, so unable to do so. Anyone else have same issue?

No water - it's time CAAF fired someone!
|
We have been without a reliable water supply for over 2 weeks. The deposito is getting very little replenishment and the plants are suffering. Farmers cannot water their crops. Worst areas are around Tarajalejo, Cardon, Tesejerague and other rural communities. Why because, as usual at this time of year, and when it's hot, they divert all the water to the hotels and tourist areas.
Isn't it about time they got rid of the management of CAAF, and started again? Only 50% of water produced by the des

Home water filter system
|
I noticed on the other forum that this subject has come up again and I thought it would be a useful topic here.
I have a system that I brought with me from the UK where we used it because our water was so chalky it was like milk!
It is a PurePro RS4000 alkaline water filter. (Not Reverse Osmosis (RO)). Doesn't seem much point in home RO as our mains water has already been through that process.

Water quality test (mains/tap)
|
Has anyone had a test done on the mains water quality/content, either by CAAF or one of the other water companies, or an independent lab? If yes, who/how/what cost etc please?

Where to buy - Cointra Water Heaters
|
Does anyone know where I can buy Cointra water heaters. From our experience, they last much longer than other manufacturers.
Hidráulica used to sell them and I’ve never seen them in Electron/Ideal.

Electric Water heater packing up
|
Hi all
Just back in Fuerte for a well earned break and noticed our Junkers Electric 30 litre 1500w water heater is leaking.
Had it for 3 years now so no complaints and would like to replace like for like if possible as I would like to do it myself.
Any ideas Where to buy (we are in Costa Calma and have a hire car so able to travel) and how easy are they to install?
Any special tools required?
Thanks in advance
Keith

life expectancy of water heaters

Does anyone know if gas water heaters last longer than electric ones? Rather fancy a gas one for instantaneous (almost) supply. Any thoughts?
