Radio Sintonia:

The Cabildo will offer subsidies for the restoration or rehabilitation of buildings with cultural value.

The Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) of Las Palmas published yesterday, Monday, December 26, the extract of the call through which owners of real estate with cultural value may access up to 15,000 euros of subsidy, granted by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, for the restoration or rehabilitation of said properties.

Both properties declared as Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC), as well as those that have a file in process for said declaration, as well as those that are cataloged in Municipal Catalogs, Special Plans of Historic Sites or in the Island Catalog, will be able to access the aid.

Likewise, the owners of homes, waterwheels, mills, taros, tahonas, ovens, etc. – except for archaeological and paleontological sites – inventoried in the Management Plan of Fuerteventura (PIOF), as well as those traditional dwellings with values of traditional architecture, such as tahonas, taros, waterwheels and other properties with cultural heritage value, may also be beneficiaries until the protection instruments determined by the Law of Cultural Heritage of the Canary Islands. The equity value of these elements will be determined by the Valuation Commission.

Applications will be submitted through the 'competitive competition' procedure that will determine the order of priority among the projects, according to the assessment received and corresponding to their score, for the subsequent allocation of subsidies.

Those properties that require restoration or full rehabilitation will be able to access up to 15,000 euros of subsidy, while up to 8,000 euros are planned for interventions that are not considered restoration or full rehabilitation.
The subsidies are available for those planned interventions, which must be requested together with the corresponding building permit, as well as for those actions already initiated and those that have been carried out and completed in the last year.
