78 photovoltaic street lamps will illuminate the towns of Puerto del Rosario.

The City Council of Puerto del Rosario, through the Department of Services, has recently awarded 78 new photovoltaic streetlights to the company NITLUX S.AU and, these days, the towns of the municipality are being visited to observe their optimal location, with the aim of covering the needs of each of the towns of the capital, allowing, in this way, to advance in energy efficiency and bringing more lighting to all corners of the municipality.

The installation of this autonomous public lighting through solar energy is being carried out in the towns of Guisguey, La Matilla, Tefía, Tetir, Los Estancos, La Asomada, Tesjuate, Casillas del Ángel, La Ampuyenta, Los Llanos de la Concepción and El Time.

This new action has facilitated the incorporation of new efficient luminaires with suitable optics that allow a better distribution of the luminous flux and that have a greater efficiency.

This installation, now, allows an electricity consumption with zero CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, since it works through renewable energies, contributing to fulfill one of the commitments of the City Council itself, which is sustainability through the use of photovoltaic energy in the municipality. This type of luminaires have the benefits of public lighting through photovoltaic energy, since it helps to save on the cost of energy. In addition, with this type of installation, there is no need to open trenches and pipes, helping to reduce labor and material costs.
