Catamaran rescued between LZ & FV
#1
from Radio Sintonia:

The Maritime Detachment of Fuerteventura has located and recovered a catamaran of 13 meters in length that sailed adrift towards Fuerteventura, without crew after its skipper accidentally fell into the water and being able to swim to the coast of Lanzarote.
The Civil Guard was informed at 12:50 through the Canary Islands Ports Officer located in the port of Corralejo, who informed the possible existence of a catamaran sailing without crew on board and therefore without government between the island of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
Immediately the components of the Maritime Detachment of Corralejo went to the place aboard the light patrol boat S-36 to the area where it can possibly be found, being able to locate 4 miles from the north coast of Fuerteventura, a catamaran of 13 meters in length and 7.5 of beam in which no one responded to any type of signal or call issued by the Civil Guard in addition to carrying the auxiliary boat hanging and hitting in The water.
Given the situation, two components of the Maritime Service of Fuerteventura decided to get on board after verifying that there was no one inside and sailed without crew, also checking how the autopilot was activated at a speed of 1.6 knots and a course of 217o towards the coast of the island of Fuerteventura.
Immediately the Civil Guard took the government of the boat and headed to the pier of Playa Blanca while in parallel they made the appropriate arrangements to locate its owner, a French citizen who was on the pier of Playa Blanca after accidentally falling from the boat in navigation, being able to reach the shore by his own means since he wore the corresponding life jacket. Once located in Playa Blanca by the Civil Guard of the Main Post of Yaiza, the components of the Maritime Service delivered from the government the ship that was transferred by its owner to the port of Marina Rubicón.
