After The Rain
In the course of a couple of days the dune crocus (androcymbium psammophilum) and local (brown) bluebell have made an appearance:

[Image: fixfoVo.jpg] dune crocus, flowers should open shortly. Can often be spotted on the dunes at Corralejo.

[Image: d0FvOod.jpg] bluebell, will take a few more days to bloom, bit disappointing as it's a murky orange/brown!

There are some nice splashes of colour appearing on the flanks of the hills. Today I snapped the range of hills south of La Oliva, taken from the Crem car park.

In the field next to where I was parked there was a variety of what looked like a mustard - I think this was the same plant on the hills.

Alongside the car park a beautiful mimosa is in bloom:

While driving between Tindaya and Tefia I saw several low splashes of blue/purple flowers beside the road. I was unable to pull over so haven't identified them or got a pic. If anyone is out that way in the next few days ......

Unrelated but I quite like this pic taken from the same point in La Oliva but looking East. La Casa de los Coroneles can be seen in the distance to the right.

Well, we haven't exactly had 'rains' this autumn/winter so far but the few little showers have triggered a few 'weeds' to show their heads!

The second pic is echinacea - possibly my favourite wild flower here.
