Certificado de Viaje - Update and changes to be aware of
#41
Frustratingly, this same simple service does not seem to be available on the Antigua website. I’ve booked flights via Ryanair and unlike previous occasions our NIE numbers were not confirmed by the Ayuntamiento during booking. We have to produce up to date padrón and, I assume, certificado de viaje at the check-in desk. I’ve got electronic certificate access to the Antigua website, but no obvious way to download these docs. Looks like a visit to the office is required!

Hi Gattaca, I have just gone to the Antigua web site using my Digital Certificate and go to the page with my certificate of residency bottom left of image -

Have to say it is a little more complicated to download now than it was when I last downloaded one in November, need a second use of your Digital Certificate.

Brilliant, thanks for this! I’ve scoured the pages and managed to miss this completely. I’ve now just been able to print off the certificates for myself and my wife - job done, as they say!

After over 40 days of waiting for a part my car has been repaired by JLR in Las Palmas and I am going over to pick it up tomorrow. I have booked a Binter flight got the resident discount but the email confirmation says I need to show a resident travel certificate but the print off of the web booking say travel certificate must not be shown, I have one ready anyway.

For the Fred Olsen ferry back it says you can board without going to the office just using your TIE.

I will report back if I have any issues.

See under cars what my car issue was!!!!!

I flew yesterday, the boarding pass said 'not to be shown'. I misread it at first, so printed out the travel document, but looked at it a second time, penny dropped (at last) and I flew there and back without showing tge travel document. Do check for the essential 'not'.

Tom.

All went smoothly with both Binter and Fred Olsen in that did not have to show any documents apart from my TIE and the downloaded boarding Pass on my phone which Binter had sent me a link for.

Just been for a wander through the islands by ferry with our car.
Used both companies and all we did was produce our TIEs everything just clicked.
As has been written previously,it did say NO papers required on our on line bookings.
The system does work!

Apologies for resurrecting this old chestnut, but things seem to change every time I go into the issue of resident discounts! I’ve booked return flights to Gran Canaria, entered all of the resident info, but for whatever reason both Binter and Canaryfly are asking us to produce ‘Certificate of Residence for Travel’ (Canaryfly), and ‘a Travel Certificate must be shown’ (Binter).

I have a Digital Certificate, and on the Ayuntamiento de Antigua website I have the options of certificates for Empadron or Residencia. Both buttons produce the same box for completion, which reads:

“Tras cumplimentar el formulario y pulsar el botón ‘Descargar’, usted podrá obtener de forma rápida su certificado de viaje”

Completing the details in that box, NIE and DOB produces only one option, the Certificado de Residencia.

My question is, is THIS what I now require along with my TIE, or do I need to pay a visit to the Ayuntamiento to get a certificado de viaje? Any experienced advice gratefully received, thanks!

Are you 100% sure the Binter one doesn't say NOT to be shown? That's what mine says, but my first time with Binter, I didn't notice the 'NOT', turned up with certificate in hand, only to be very embarrassed when the lady at the gate corrected my error!

Do look again to be absolutely sure. If it does, a trip to the Town Hall might be needed.

Are you Temporary Resident (first 5 years) or Permanent Resident (post renewal of TIE)?

No, it’s very clear that a certificate is required! I’ve gone through every permutation on the Ayuntamiento website, but just end up with the same document. It looks as if there is a fault, there should be three options for different documents but only one comes up. We’ve been here eleven years with permanent residency status, so no issue there. A trip to the Ayuntamiento is in order by the looks of it!
