Certificado de Viaje - Update and changes to be aware of

We have just booked with Armas successfully (remembering I only have one surname) and on their email they said we only need to present the TIE for boarding. BUT i think we will carry every thing else as well!!

And I have used Fred Olsen with only my TIE (despite not having a Travel certificate, but on the computer system).

Just had a trip to LZ .
Booked on line no hiccups re resident discount.
Only had to show our TIEs to board.
"Very disappointing not even asked for our viajes"
20 years since we were there last,it has changed a bit!!

Curious. Where did you go on Lanzarote and in what way has it changed?

Not appropriate for everyone but we are here as EU citizen (myself, Irish passport) and spouse (English). I have residency and got my Viaje no problem and - after a bit of checking - they gave my wife one too. Though she has been approved for residency last week, the card has not arrived yet.

We took the NIE and Viaje documents down to the Fred Olsen office in Corralejo and they scanned them in, so we are on the system (at leats for the duration of the Viaje doc). But they emphasised we must travel with passports, presumably as photo ID.

Indeed at the dock when travelling to LZ it was only the passports we were asked for and they check the vehicle reg. number etc against those as proof of the booking.

We went to LZ with Arma ferry no problem.
We have just booked with Fred Olsen for later this year and curiously the search engine kept displaying NR rates.
Only on the last page (the paying page) did it finally revert to residents rates, and then on the tickets a little green arrow stated that we had been verified as resident.
A little confusing but worked in the end.

Answer to Joy Division,
last time we went to LZ we used to walk from Playa Blanca to Papagayo through the Park.No people no buildings.
Now there is a road through the Park and millions and millions of people, hotels, houses.IT has changed!!

I’d definitely agree with you that Playa Blanca has developed and sprawled in the last 10-15 years, similar to Corralejo, if you like, although the main drag in Playa Blanca hasn’t turned into an ugly shopping precinct. I think the promenade in Playa Blanca is still attractive and the buildings are all painted white, as in the rest of Lanzarote, so the approach on the ferry is far more pleasing on the eye than the approach into Corralejo, which in my opinion, is an eyesore.
As soon as you take the main LZ-2 out of Playa Blanca, through Yaiza, and on to Arrecife and beyond there are no new developments so it hasn’t changed at all. In fact nearly everything North of Playa Blanca remains more or less as it was 30 years ago.

Easy access to Viaje.
Although on the ferry nobody seems to ask for the viaje if you have booked and have TIE,we still carry a viaje just in case.
There now appears to be an easier way to get one, apologies if everyone already knows.
Go onto La Oliva mainsite,
select Inicio (top line)
Find the Padron de habiticiones, right hand side.
Option to get Viaje enter NIE number and DOB ,hey presto new Viaje

6 months is the life of the travel certificate, so renewing them online is very useful.
