Coco's Kitchen Caleta
#1
Coco,s kitchen has relocated, it is now around the corner past El Patio, where the Notary used to be.
We had lunch there yesterday, it is quite small around 20/24 covers, well decorated, and the staff extremely friendly, the food was excellent different but excellent, we arrived at 13:00 just as they were opening, and were able to get a table, of which 2 { 8 covers ) were reserved by 13:30 it was just about full with the exception of the two reserved tables, I had Teriyaki Duck management Chinese Style, Spaghetti Bolognese my duck came with Chinese cabbage which I Like but looks a little off-putting if you have not seen it before and was as said excellent, managements came with roughly shredded cucumber which I thought to be a little strange, but having tasted it realised that the cooling effect of the cucumber was indeed required, these along with two glasses of wine and a bottle of water €43.
A word of warning, you need to book it as it is very popular, and they do not do take Away

NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE

We had a booking for 18:30 last night, arrived about 15 mins early, he explained that he had 2 large tables (1 x 8 and 1 x 5) ahead of us, we asked if we could sit and have a drink while waiting and he said yes. We went to our table which had a reserved sign on it. We were not even offered a menu to read or a drink, he deliberately would not make eye contact with us. He served the table of 8 their meal, then proceeded to the table of 5 to start explaining their menu and selections when he could very easily have handed us a menu to read and taken a drinks order. People came to the door looking to see if the there were any vacancies and he totally ignored them. At one stage the chef went out to a family of about 6 people to explain that you need a reservation.

Eventually he came to us, his attitude was very bolchi when I explained that we would have liked to have had a drink as he had said we could when he told us we could take our seats. His explanation was I have to look after these tables they are my customers they are before you, no matter how much we explained that a simple curtesy of a menu to read and a drink during the 20 minutes we sat there like thicko's. He just wasn’t getting it, so we decided to leave, he wanted to know why and I explained his attitude was all wrong, he insisted it wasn’t.

I even explained that we were here in June, had a lovely meal , booked to come back on Oct 11 th for my birthday he took the booking wrote it in his book and even took a contact number, but when we arrived the place was closed, and we had not received any message to say it was closed. His response immediately’I LOST MY PHONE’ I said that he wrote the details in his reservation book, and he just kept insisting I lost the number because I lost my phone.

His tone and approach to us was very pompous, we’re not that badly stuck for a meal, there’s lots of other restaurants in Caleta.

NEEDLESS TO SAY WE WONT BE BACK.

Strange, we have been there 3 times and yes they were busy, but they were also very polite, maybe something has changed?
