El Toston bar re-opened in
November 2021 after approx. 1 year of closure,
with local couple Jaqui and Ian as the new hosts and a face lift for the patio area and loos.
In many ways a combination of former owners' Gayle and Alan's traditional style of British home cooked menu and Mel and Steve's burger / bistro style of food.
Open from 4pm every day, except Thursdays when closed all day.

El Toston Harbour View bar is now under new management, as Ian and Jaqui sold on the lease in
February 2024.
Sadly, after a short illness, Jaqui passed away in early March.
Sincerest condolences from the Gone Fishing family to Ian, family and friends.

It transpires that El Toston Harbour View bar is no more.
All of the old signage and much of the interior has been removed and replaced.
The new owner has rebranded it as 'Chupa Cabra' and it appears to be a cocktail bar.
For the curious among us:
Chupa Cabra is alleged to be a mythical beast that sucks the blood of goats ...
For us, after over 20 years of enjoying the hospitality offered by Gayle & Alan, Mel, Steve & Matt and latterly Jaqui & Iain, it's the end of an era.

Truly end of an era. I walked passed there at the weekend and noticed it was open but empty, maybe one too many cocktail bars along there now?

Yesterday I watched the last video posted on YouTube by
JP in Fuerteventura, he mentioned that Jaqui had sold the Toston at the end of
January as she wanted to retire. Unfortunately, a few weeks after that she went to hospital where she passed away (as Gone Fishing said) after two and a half weeks. I've never been to that restaurant but I've heard a few times its name on this forum. Very sad.
