Extra sailings for Easter
#1
from Noticias:

The route between Playa Blanca and Corralejo will have 296 trips this Easter.

The Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Housing, directed by Sebastián Franquis, informs that the different shipping companies that operate in the Canary Islands reinforce their maritime connectivity for the Easter holiday period with 955,334 places for inter-island trips.

These figures represent a growth of 9.83% of the places offered in 2019 and reflect the consolidated recovery in maritime transport of the Islands, after the fall experienced during the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

This reinforcement will mean a total of 955,334 seats available for those who want to travel on one of the 11 sea routes on the eight islands where different shipping companies currently operate. The route that grows exponentially the most is the one that connects Los Cristianos and Santa Cruz de La Palma reaching 37% more than the seats offered in 2019, with a total of 93,718 seats and an increase of 22 more trips for this route.

The other route that experiences a strong increase is the maritime connection between the Port of Agaete and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with an increase of 23.64% in the number of seats offered for Easter that reach 145,000 seats.

Among the routes that make more trips during this holiday period is the one that runs the route between Playa Blanca and Corralejo with 296 trips, and that also experiences an increase of 4.85%.

In total, the Canary Islands will have 1,006 trips among all maritime routes for Easter, a figure that exceeds those traveled during 2019 and that drives the definitive recovery of maritime transport after the fall suffered by the sector during the years 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic.

All the shipping companies that operate in the Canary Islands will have a reinforcement of their maritime connections to respond to the increase in people who opt for this transport during Easter. Thus, Naviera Armas will offer 550,996 places in 522 connections, which will mean an increase of 48,934 places compared to 2019.

For his part, Fred. Olsen Express will increase its usual offer by 23,059 seats, with 438 connections. The recovery of mobility is consolidated in the Canary Islands and a generalized increase in passenger transport is expected, calculating a total of 1,143,072 air and sea seats during the Easter holidays.
