A Google translation:
The Department of Infrastructure, Roads, Territorial Planning of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, headed by President Sergio Lloret, has put out to tender, through a simplified open procedure with urgent processing, the rehabilitation of the FV-2 highway in the section that runs between the Glorieta de Los Ángeles and Cruce Salinas, within the municipality of Antigua.
As detailed by President Sergio Lloret during the visit made today, Tuesday, January 3, to the area that will be the object of the works, as it is located between Puerto del Rosario and El Castillo, "it is one of the areas with the highest traffic intensity in Fuerteventura ”. Reason for which he has assessed the works to be carried out as "absolutely necessary".
The works, which have a basic tender budget of almost 1.9 million euros and an execution period of six months, will include not only the superficial rehabilitation of the pavement in the section, but also the demolition and replacement of the existing curbs in the landscaped areas adjacent to the islets of the section.
The expansion of various sections of ditches and the construction of a rainwater collector, in order to improve traffic safety in the area, will also be the object of the action, which will include the replacement of the current vertical and horizontal signposting of the track and its markings.
The complete rehabilitation of the bike lane located next to the garden area, which is currently in significant deterioration, including the installation of a curb and a drainage channel for stormwater next to it, will also be the objective of the contract.

I'm wondering if said visit made things worse, because I took the bus to the city today and the traffic was so bad it took 50 minutes! Longest time ever.  Big Grin

I don't know what they're planning on doing, but if it improves traffic, that'll be a blessing. Mostly it's fine, but when it's bad, it's very ugly.
