Si,
Our UK purchased Firestick works fine in FV.
You will need a VPN to access UK content.

Yes as Bertie said, a UK Firestick is fine (we had previously been told we had to register it first in the UK, but that is not needed). We use NordVPN which is a couple of quid a month. We tried SurfShark but it was a much less reliable service.

Set up a NordVPN account, download the app onto your Firestick and away you go!

For anyone thinking of doing this DON'T use one the many 'free" VPN's, as they just don't have enough bandwidth to stream over. Bite the bullet and pay for a decent, well known VPN.

I also use NordVPN and would highly recommend them. The annual subscription is a cheaper option and I am so pleased with the service that I've gone for the 2 year subscription as it was a bit cheaper still. (Always trying to save a cent or two!).

£50 a year for annual subscription or £60 if paid monthly.

My 2 year package with NordVPN was cheaper.

I agree Tom. We got NordVPN through our son - they kept coming back with reduced offers and think we ended up paying £72 for two years!

Is the fire stick necessary even if you have a smart TV? Can someone tell me the advantages of having a fire stick? What U.K.TV channels will I be able to access with a VPN and a fire stick? Thanks

I guess it depends whether your Smart TV has any networks on it with access to channels eg UKTV, Amazon Prime etc. But most channels like the Beeb, ITV etc don't don't have access from overseas, so the VPN disguises your location.

It’s an LG tv and does have the Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Prime Apps loaded on it but I would like to get BBC iplayer and all 4 and whatever other U.K. tv I can get. I’ve purchased the Nord VPN but do I need the fire stick to access the other U.K. tv?
