Hi,

we are evalutaing to do a travel to fuerteventura in the October, we are read that the climate is ok, not too hot and not too cold.

What do you think about the zone of Corralejo? Our travel agency suggest us to use the Riu Oliva Resort for a wonderfull landscape, some diea about it?

In the corralejo zone of the Riu Oliva Resort there are naturist beach or other place where take the sun without dress? It's all legal?

Some year ago we made a travel to maspalomas and several time on the naturist beach there are some swinger situation and exibithionist, there are some risk on corralejo?

Thanks very much

The Weather is usually very pleasant in October, The Riu Oliva Beach is a 3* property, 500 meters north along the beach its sister hotel the Riu Tres Isla is a 4*, you can read the reviews on tripadvisor, the hotels are a little isolated, you will have to get a taxi or local bus into the centre of Corralejo if you wish

If you choose the Oliva Beach and walk onto the beach, turn right walk for 100 meters or so & the beach is clothing optional then for a few kilometres, if you choose the Tres Isla the walk to the same place is 5 minutes, the beach northwards from Tres Isla to the edge of Corralejo is also clothing optional, personally I’d prefer the Tres Isla over the Oliva Beach, it’s a quiet hotel with older clientele & prefer the beach south of Oliva Beach, I’ve been on that beach many times in October & haven’t noticed anyone getting any unwanted attention

At the moment there are no beach snack huts or sun loungers for hire on the beach due to a dispute with the service providers & the local council

It’s perfectly okay to be nude on the beach but not between the two Riu hotels

Thanks very much for your suggestion!

But it's true that the Oliva Hotel is very bad for health because there are some food infection? I read that on tripadvisor.

In alternative, do you suggest some rental of a bungalow?

I admit that we don't know if chose fuerteventura or tenerife or again, gran canaria... your suggestion?

I haven’t read recent reviews of the Oliva Beach, in the past there were some reviews claiming that the food was the cause of some illnesses, personally I would not stay there, despite the location.

I’ve stayed at the Tres Isla 6 times since 2016, no problems. The food was good quality. If your decide to rent, I’d advise a rental car to get to the beaches, an alternative may be Tao Caleta Mar, it used to be Gran Hotel Natura which was naturist accommodation, afaik it has a naturist sun bathing terrace, it’s right on the edge of flag beach too which is clothing optional, the first 200 meters of beach is not great under foot but improves significantly afterwards.

I haven’t rented privately in Fuerteventura since 2015 but I’d imagine the usual suspects will have something but you’ll probably need a rental car for an easy life, Airbnb, booking.com, vrbo etc etc

I’d say give Fuerteventura a try, we love it, great beaches, everything is pretty chilled, arriving ourselves October 8

I would avoid both the Riu hotels there.

Stay somewhere else and travel to the beach when you want/need.

Ive heard that the hotels haven't been refurbished in a while and have stupidly slow internet.

Evenings are boring there with only a couple of possible things to do vs the whole of the town of Corralejo with its hundreds of restaurants etc.

No need to avoid the Riu hotels if they offer you what you want, the Tres Isla while probably in need of renovating is spotlessly clean, it’s well run, quiet, food is of a good decent quality & the staff are great. If the easy access to the best beaches in the area & chillin’ is your focus for your holiday then it’s a good fit. When staying there we’d probably go into Corralejo three evenings a week after dinner, that suits us, not saying I’d never stay in the centre but all our stays there have been pretty good, horses for courses and all that.
