International couriers
#1
I am looking to import an item from the United States. The company does not ship overseas per se.

They are willing to have the item picked up so I am asking - does anyone have any recommendations for good international couriers?

I was thinking perhaps UPS. I know that sometimes we are at the whim of the local sub-contractors.

Thanking in advance.

I had a recent experience with DHL and would hesitate to recommend them. We went at 10am when the website says they are open and was very literally screamed at by the woman in the office to go away because they are CLOSED!!!

We came back later and dealt with a much nicer lady, but the other woman was still in the office muttering and being generally awful. While we were waiting for them to open, we read the reviews and they were a horror show. Our parcel did get where it was going, and that second woman was perfectly lovely, but I could not recommend them on the basis of what was unquestionably top 5 worst customer experiences of my life.

Another NOT recommending DHL. I've had two packages that never arrived but they claimed it had been delivered. When the supplier got proof of delivery for one package, the map had a pin in Lajares but I live in El Cotillo. The signature was a scribble!

I've lost endless ink jet cartridges sent to me by HP Instant Ink and finally got HP to drop DHL as a delivery method for Fuerteventura, they now use Corres.

Yesterday, we received two Amazon packages by Corres that DHL claimed were delivered on the 18th April, one of which we have already been refunded for! (Now trying to return the refund ).

Absolutely do not use DHL please.

I don't know who you had to sacrifice to get a supplier to drop DHL, but you did God's work there. Big Grin

The amount of companies (even at home) I've had to stop ordering from because of their use of crap delivery services is painful. Merchants need to realise that if people have other options, they will absolutely abandon a supplier over a bad delivery company.
