Invasion of butterflies!

After last Thursday's rainfall, the island has witnessed the arrival of hundreds of thousands (perhaps millions) of orange butterflies.  Blown from tropical Africa by the winds which brought the rain, these fragile creatures are amazing insects.

Yes, painted ladies. With the odd Red Admiral amonst them.
Shame to see so many dead on the roads, the other day. All splatted on the windscreen.
