MercaFuer - Online directory of local farms
#1
I believe the directory is run by Cabildo and you'll find already many farms registered and ready to deliver their fresh produce straight to your doorstep. Check them out: MercaFuer.

They have 2 websites Mercafuer and Fuertemerca.

Here is more info about this ''project'':

The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has launched the online market for primary sector products for the island, fuertemerca is a technological tool where farmers, ranchers and small-scale artisanal production and transformation market fresh food directly, without intermediaries, without intermediaries and healthy.

The digital market in Fuerteventura is managed by the producers themselves, who offer in a simple, comfortable and safe way the necessary and indispensable food in these moments of forced confinement, with higher nutritional quality, important for the strengthening of the immune system.

The objective is that fuertemerca "consolidates itself as an alternative distribution channel to those that each producer already has, maintaining its operations permanently," explained the councilor for the Primary Sector and Food Sovereignty of the Cabildo, Marcelino Sardinia, who stressed that the market Virtual also supposes "an approach of the primary sector to the Majorera society so that it knows first-hand the quality of its products".

In this first phase, the consumer can filter by the area of Fuerteventura where he lives, then filter by the categories of products he wants to buy, and see the local businesses or producers according to the search. You will be able to access a file of each business or producer, where you can find all the contact and interest information to order directly with that business or producer.

The transaction of each order is made directly between the consumer and the producer or business. The file for each one specifies the municipalities and distribution methods.

The website will be complemented with new product lines such as aloe vera, jams or wines, among other local products.

For many producers, this action will be their first contact with the world of electronic commerce, which is also an opportunity to acquire knowledge and experience in this distribution channel.

For the citizens of Fuerteventura, in addition to the ease of purchase, food does not pass through intermediaries, nor are they exposed to contact from other customers, potential sources of contagion.

Not sure how much true is this rumour but apparently Cabildo paid €24,000 for the website being created. That's what I call a serious web-design business. Cool

I wonder which cousin got the contract.....

It's just a copy of yellow pages anyway, I have never seen a market before where you turn up and there are zero products, zero prices, and they can't even tell you exactly how much delivery is going cost...
