Ordering your steak cooked how you like it!

I've often struggled with the Spanish equivalents of 'medium rare' etc so I was delighted to discover this guide on the reverse of a packaged steak I bought recently. Now saved as a favourite on my phone

This assumes that they will be willing to cook it how you like it... 

The English equivalent of hecho is often considered a dirty word. I wonder if they are any better about that on the islands...?

Back on topic, favourite place to have a steak on the island?


In El Cotillo,  the outstanding first place goes to La Morocha, the Argentina restaurant on the corner of Marfolin apartments. 

Has been only open for one year, but has established itself as the must go to place for a steak.

Back to the "hecho".. Hecho is the past participle of the verb "hacer" = to do.  So "hecho"in this case means "done".. so, poco hecho is only cooked a little.  "Muy hecho" = very well done ( and allthings in between!! Although I always say "bien hecho" - same thing
