Outdoor fires in evening
#1
Do you know whether today people can have outdoor fires?, as in the late evening I counted at least four different bonfires, the smoke was everywhere. The house is stinking of smoke and surely it's not good for our health too Sick .

It is the eve of St. John's Day, and for many years the Spanish have celebrated with bonfires on this evening.  The actual reason for the celebration is somewhat unfortunate (banishing the Jews from Spain) but it has just become tradition.

Somewhat like the British celebrating Guy Fawkes failure!!

Does this mean you can't have a fire pit as a feature in your garden for evening socialising ?

I'm sure they are fine,(or they wouldn't be allowed to sell them) but burning of rubbish etc is restricted to that night only
