Hi folks, has anyone managed to track down a set of (preferably) solar fairy lights or lanterns for hanging in a tree.
Would prefer solar powered with a separate panel (for setting outside the tree whilst the lights are in the tree, if that makes sense!), but will go for mains powered if not available.
North of island would be good, but will travel where we need to.
TIA
Bill

I've bought numerous sets from 'Chinese' shops and wasted my
Money. I've bought from Ideal and they lasted slightly longer. The last ones I bought online from UK and they lasted a bit longer, perhaps 2 years.
Good luck and if you find some that last well please let us all know!

The rechargeable batteries don’t last forever, technically they can only be recharged so many times.
The Chinese warehouses in El Matoral always have a great selection of both solar and mains powered.

ok thanks both. Yes, like most solar they will give up after a few years. Will check out the local options in the meantime but maybe buy online. Cheers. :-)

Wherever you buy them, cheap lights use cheap low powered rechareable batteries. I have found that buying them in the UK and replacing the batteries with higher powered ones gives a much longer life, and longer on each night. We have some still going strong after about four years by doing this.
