from Radio Sintonia:
The dirt roads of Punta de Jandía and Cofete will be conditioned for Easter.
The train of recebe of the Service of Works and Machinery of the Cabildo of Fuerteventura destined in the South Region works in these days in the conditioning of the dirt roads of the Punta de Jandía and Cofete. The president of the Cabildo, Sergio Lloret López, together with the mayor of the municipality of Pájara, Pedro Armas, visited this Thursday the works that are being carried out on this road to have it in good condition for the next Holy Week.
Sergio Lloret explained that "these works are demonstrating the advantages of having two pieces of equipment of this machinery on the island. Before it was very difficult for us to come to Jandía, whose road also supports a great traffic, and since March of last year the machinery has come three times for the integral maintenance of the almost 30 kilometers of dirt roads that we have in the Natural Park of Jandía".
The mayor of Pájara thanked the Cabildo "for the visit to this work so necessary for the maintenance of the road so that it can be passable, especially now that we are on the eve of Holy Week and more circulation is expected on it on those dates."
The Works and Machinery Service of the Cabildo, directed by the island president, has two recebe trains -each composed of recycler, motor grader, rammer roller and tractor of chains and tanker trucks-, which act simultaneously in the North Region and in the South Region in order to maintain in good conditions of passability the more than 1,000 kilometers of dirt roads that the island has.
Over the past year, a total of 584 kilometers of roads were conditioned between the two regions, more than double that in 2020, the Island Council moves.
