Well Done. How long did it take you and did you happen upon any snags en route? Did you motor through or go the 'pretty way' be interested to know. This is probably for another thread don't know.

Good luck - is it stock? I have heard there are issues with any changes eg exhausts, bars etc...

You could ask Woodside Cargo SL for a quote, I know they do the paperwork for cars.

I am currently using Miguel at BoxxPro to import / register my new Range Rover Sport, the process is quite complicated with various elements you have to go through -
Certificate from ferry company of transport to Fuerteventura / Canaries, in my case Armas. Certificate from a mechanical engineer to confirm that the vehicle conforms and has no modification that don't meet Spanish regulations. In my case the paperwork included the Land Rover Certificate of Conformity and the specific dated build spec, both of these docs have the VIN and engine numbers on then. (One of the guys I golf with brought his Trike over but as it had nonconforming modifications he had to take back to UK and has bought one over here.) ITV inspection which happens at least 30 days after you submit the paperwork at the ITV station. Import paperwork and Tax calculation, Tax % depends on vehicle type and engine size. Then Traffico to get new registration number. Once you have the reg number you can then insure your vehicle here Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the input to this thread.
I've tried and hopefully merged all 3 threads into 1. If something similar happens again (numerous threads started on the same topic) please notify a moderator who can delete the surplus threads. Thanks, Tamara.

One thing that has cropped up with my process that I wasn't expecting was that with importing from the UK that due to Brexit there is a 10% surcharge added to the value before the IGIC Tax is calculated.

I apologise for my delayed response, I was warned by Miguel that the importation process would be a costly exercise. The ITV test combined with what is described in the UK as type approval needed the expertise of an agent. It’s a process that is so time consuming for the inspectors that it’s obvious they don’t want or encourage importation. 12 months on and I now have my ITV and import duty has just been paid so hopefully in February 2025 I’ll be able to apply for my Spanish registration plate!
My agent has stuck with me on this drawn out process, Miguel from the Boxx Pro, recommended by Cotillo Tom. Carl Kidd
