Salt rugs dress the streets of Antigua
#1
Last Sunday, June 23, the streets that square the Plaza de Antigua were dressed with carpets of salt to celebrate the Day of Corpus Christi.

The group of Catechists of Antigua, the Cultural Association El Campillo, Cáritas, the Senior Center, the Worshiping section of the Nocturnal Adoration and the Town Hall of Antigua from the Department of Celebrations, designed and made the Carpets of Salt that adorned the streets side of the Plaza de Antigua.

Since the council of Celebrations we have contributed by providing tools such as buckets, bags, shovels, wheelbarrows and 2,000 kilos of salt to the groups and participating associations, says the councilman of area, Jonathan Peña, participant in the preparation of the Carpet of Salt City Council Ancient.

The councilman appreciates the participation of neighbours, who offer carpets of Corpus Christi with creative designs, full of colour and more elaborate each year, also highlighting the collaboration of craftsman Pepe Melian in the design of the Center's Carpets of Salt of Seniors and the Worshiping section of the Night Adoration.
