The largest satellite manufacturer in Europe will be implemented in Fuerteventura.
The Cabildo de Fuerteventura has transferred its impulse of innovative solutions that allow diversifying the economy of the island by the hand of the Technological Park of Fuerteventura. Some actions that, according to the institution, will be fundamental to generate new opportunities from which the society of the island and the Canary Islands will benefit.
The president of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Sergio Lloret, highlighted "the importance of continuing to bet on projects that allow Fuerteventura to become a technological enclave of reference worldwide".
These advances are not limited to the continuity of the works to improve the infrastructures of the Technology Park but also at the business level, with the growing interest of different projects for its implementation in the majoreras facilities.
In this line, the board of directors of the Technology Park, held last Tuesday, approved the request of the multinational Thales Alenia Space España SA to develop its projects in the Park.
These activities are part of the Canarias Geo Innovation Program 2030 project, whose planning began in 2017, and which aims to turn Fuerteventura into a key point in innovation and experimentation of aerospace technologies at an international level.
The approval will allow the implementation of the largest satellite manufacturer in Europe on the island of Fuerteventura, where they will develop their activity around the Canarian Stratoport for HAPS and UAS. This project of insular interest is developed on the grounds of the Technology Park, whose work continues and on which the different procedures that will allow its achievement are being completed.
Likewise, the council approved the tender of the strategic communication and dissemination plan where the actions that will be carried out in the Technology Park are collected. These will allow the majorera society, both at the educational and business level, to know the activities that take place in its facilities, as well as the benefits that these will mean for the island.
On the other hand, the board of directors discussed the readjustment of the direct subsidy for the execution of the Biodiversity project of the Complementary Plans of R + D + i within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan corresponding to the Next Generation Funds of the European Union. A plan whose implementation is progressing at a good pace.
