Does anyone know if the Cabildo will reintroduce the Grant for Solar systems? I know you claim get the Grant (50%?) last year and wondered if it’s likely they’ll do the same again next year. I’ve currently got a hot water heater on the roof and would like to replace it with a solar panel.
I would contact Solarland near Villaverde, they have installed solar panels for a number of our neighbours and I got the impression they did all the paper work, I will double check later today as we are out for lunch with one of those neighbours.

Ok I asked my neighbour and he indicated that Solarland assisted with the completion of the application form but he made all the application to the council as you have to support your application with other documents such as property electrical compliance certificate, tax compliance certificate etc. He said the pack you submit becomes quite a meaty one plus he is not sure whether grants are still available.
Hope that helps

Thanks very much. That’s really helpful. I have a feeling new grants might not currently be available and thought somebody might know if this is an Annual thing where the Cabildo receive a certain amount to distribute as Grants. Will make some
Further investigations as I’m keen to move over for hot water via Solar.
Ah not sure if grants were or are available for solar hot water, neighbours grant related to electricity solar panels. Our boiler has just gone and we are looking at up grading the solar hot water system, the same neighbour has had a quote about 2500€ for a 300lt system.

I've been searching through old online news and I've found an article from early March 2021 (not 2022). It might give you an idea of what might be available next year.
I'm sure I read a similar article this year but I can't find it now. Looks like you need to be prepared as there is only a short window for requesting the subsidy - how you go about it is a whole new ballgame! Goodluck!
The Cabildo informs that it opens the period of subsidies for energy efficiency and self-consumption in homes and small businesses. Applications can be submitted until April 5.
Radio Sintonía Fuerteventura The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Transport and Accessibility and Sustainable Mobility of the Cabildo de Fuerteventura that informs that generic subsidies have been convened on a competitive basis in the 2021 annuity for the granting of the subsidy lines included in the Strategic Plan of Subsidies for the saving and improvement of energy efficiency and the promotion of renewable energies on the Island of Fuerteventura.
Deadlines
The deadline for submitting applications will remain open until April 5, in accordance with the provisions of the regulatory bases, published in the BOP of Las Palmas nº19 dated February 12, 2021, and is aimed at subsidizing self-consumption facilities in homes; to the installations of equipment for the production of domestic hot water through solar panels in homes (solar-thermal); as well as actions to improve energy efficiency in lighting installations in small and medium-sized companies.
The Minister of Industry Lolina Negrín points out that in the coming days subsidies for the acquisition of pure electric vehicles will also be published, whose term will remain open until April 10.

and now one from 31.10.20:
Approved the Strategic Plan for Renewable Energy Subsidies 2021-2023
The Plenary of theCabildoof Fuerteventura approved on Friday, October 30, the Strategic Plan of Subsidies for the saving and improvement of energy efficiency and promotion of renewable energies in Fuerteventura for the 2021-2023 annuities, which is articulated in five lines of aid aimed at the installation of renewable energies in homes, small and medium-sized enterprises, agricultural and livestock farms, as well as the acquisition of electric vehicles.
Taking into account the number of beneficiaries that are expected to be served, the island corporation, through the Ministry of Industry, allocates planned items of more than one million euros, distributed in the 2021, 2022 and 2022 annuities. The island corporation will increase this amount in the case of exceeding these requests.
This plan is articulated in five lines of subsidies, aimed at the installation of self-consumption in homes, installation of equipment for the production of domestic hot water through solar panels in homes, acquisition of pure electric vehicles, installation of self-consumption in livestock and agricultural farms, as well as actions to improve energy efficiency in lighting installations in small and medium-sized companies.
The Ministry of Industry, directed by Lolina Negrín, grants these grants with the aim of contributing to the reduction of energy consumption and the reduction of C02 emissions. For Negrín, "it is a fundamental tool to promote energy saving and the promotion of renewable energies".
Through the line of aid aimed at self-consumption facilities in homes, 50% of the investment made by the owner of single-family homes is subsidized, through the installation of photovoltaic or wind systems. The amount of this subsidy will not exceed 4,000 euros per application, with approximately 40 beneficiaries expected to be served in the first year.
With the subsidies for the installation of hot water production equipment in homes, 50% of the investment made will be subsidized, with aid of up to 1,000 euros per beneficiary. In this case, it is expected to serve 60 beneficiaries in the first year.
For the acquisition of 100% electric vehicles, aid of 4,000 euros per beneficiary will be allocated. On the other hand, self-consumption facilities on livestock farms and farms with photovoltaic or wind systems will not exceed 30,000 euros for installations not connected to the grid and 15,000 for those connected to the grid. In the case of power expansion and accumulation of existing facilities, aid of a maximum of 4,000 euros per application will be granted.
Finally, grants aimed at supporting the improvement of energy efficiency in lighting installations in small and medium-sized enterprises will not exceed 2,500 per application.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry, during the period 2018-2019, a total of 61 facilities for self-consumption in homes, 74 for the production of hot water, 3 facilities for energy saving of companies, 15 facilities in agricultural and livestock farms and 4 aids for the acquisition of electric vehicles were executed thanks to the aid granted by thecouncil. These figures represent an energy saving of 63.15 tons of oil equivalent (toe) per megawatt-hour, avoiding the emission of 476 tons of CO2.
Also, since 2015, the council of Fuerteventura has granted more than 900,000 euros in the different lines of aid for the promotion of renewable energies, which has meant an energy saving of more than 100 tons of oil equivalent (toe) per megawatt-hour produced and the emission of 842 tons of CO2 has been avoided.

I’m fairly sure the grant would also apply to Solar Hot Water. At least, somebody who sells these systems told me it would apply to the hot water system they were selling. That was earlier this year when grants were still available but I wasn’t in a position to proceed.
Wow! 300L is a big ol tank. I was looking at 150L but there are only two of us and hoping that will suffice. The guy quoted me €1600 so if I got a grant it’d bring it down to €800. I could justify that.
