About 300 athletes from 4 to over 40 years old participated in a race organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Antigua, with the collaboration of the Insular Federation of Athletics, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, Civil Protection and Local Police of Ancient.

David Camejo of the Calima club and Ainhoa ​​Barbuzano of the Maxiroga club, absolute champions of the V Urban Mile of Antigua.

The mayor, Matías Peña, presented a plaque of recognition for the commitment shown to the sport, to the president of the Athletics Federation of Fuerteventura, Ramón Domínguez.


The V Urban Mile of Antigua held this Saturday during the celebration of the White Night in the square has been a success of participation with about 300 athletes of all ages enrolled in the race, says the Councillor for Sports, Fernando Estupiñán.

In the absolute queen race they were winners in the men's category, David Camejo of the Calima club, who managed to get half body in the finish line to the second classified, Pablo Rodríguez of CEAT, also closely followed by the third classified, Sergio Gutierrez, of the club Maxiroga The first local runner to reach the finish line was Rafael Gómez.

In the women's category, the absolute champion was Ainhoa ​​Barbuzano, also a local champion, of the Maxiroga club, followed by Yanira Deanna of the EAMJ, and in third position, Sonya Trevisan of the Maxoathlon.

All participants were winners of a medal upon arrival at the finish line where they were received by the mayor, Matias Peña, the Councillor for Sports, Matías Peña, and other councillors of the Corporation. Also participating in the delivery of Trophies was the vice president of the Cabildo and insular advisor of Sports, Alejandro Jorge.
