Vitamin C powder (ascorbic acid)

Does anyone know (for sure) if you can buy vitamin C in powder form on the island please. I know of a couple of health food shops, which I haven't tried yet. Someone else was asking on a Lanza forum for a body building shop, which is another alternative.

You can get Vitamin C in tablet form in Mercadona.

I have bought it in a tube of effervescent tablets - so mix with water to make a drink. Can't remember if that was Mercadona or pharmacy.

Grind them down! How much do you need and what do you use it for? Just curious.
A pharmacy might have abscorbic acid in powder form.

It should be much cheaper to buy powder form in the first place. We want it to add to our own electrolyte drink.

IIRC ascorbic acid powder is used for canning. That would be cheap. It has been used by photographers. But in general it's not a common product. Tablets are a common product. The problem is you'll get the binders/fillers.

I looked on amazon.de (more likely to deliver to the Canaries than amazon.es in my experience) but the delivery charge far outweighs the benefit of buying from there.

Found a multi vitamin compound, which includes Vit C, in a shop called Feel Fit Nutrition in PDR.

Found some ascorbic acid in the health shop in the Atlantico centre in Caleta. about the same price as our previous purchase but for half the amount!
