High cloud at 8am.

The forecast is for high cloud due to the Calima. There is a Yellow Alert for high temperatures. The shade temperature will be 30 with a 25-35 kph N wind.

Hazy blue sky all day and quite windy. The heat and dust forecast in the Calima weren't as bad as I expected.

A Yellow Alert for high temperatures is in place for Thursday and Friday.

I think we had the worst of it over on the west coast, Tindaya. Shade temp at 1pm was 35C, full sun was 42C, except it wasn't 'sun' - we didn't see that all day, again! And the wind - phew - hot Easterly gales all day - I think it did it's norm and picked up speed coming down the mountains and onto the plains. Haven't got a working anemometer at the moment but I'd guess at 50 kmph with gusts to 65/70 kmph. Lots of minor damage to plants in the garden.
