The Civil Guard intensifies surveillance in leisure areas for the prevention of drug retail in Fuerteventura.
The Civil Guard of Fuerteventura has arrested one person and investigated another of 28 and 23 years of age respectively, for a crime against public health in its modality of drug trafficking, being that the latter runs the establishment where a box owned by the detainee containing twenty-one bags of cocaine was seized. a precision scale, two hundred euros in cash and ten (10) pounds sterling, together with other tools necessary for the sale and distribution of substances.
Previous actions, retail drug prevention
The Civil Guard of Puerto del Rosario, in accordance with the Police Plan against drugs in leisure areas and venues, has carried out surveillance in tourist areas and in the vicinity of premises in Caleta de Fuste where reports had previously been drawn up for infractions of the law on citizen security regarding the possession and consumption of substances.
Inspection and policing
After carrying out the preventive work, the Civil Guard of Puerto del Rosario carried out on February 11 an inspection in a leisure venue located on Juan Ramón Soto Morales Avenue in that town in which the presence of people with a history of this nature in possession of Money of dubious origin had previously been detected.
The action carried out by the Civil Guard of the Puerto del Rosario Post, together with the Cynological Service and members of the Rural Company Patrol, executed a Police device in response to the pursuit of the indications of drug trafficking obtained previously.
In the course of the inspection, the Civil Guard located a small warehouse with a box inside that contained devices used for weighing and distributing narcotic substances, a sheet with annotations, narcotic substances such as 9.3 grams of cocaine distributed in 21 bags, a precision scale and cash.
Due to the fact that the discovery was made by locating the person responsible for the prohibited substances and elements for their distribution, the person in charge of the premises was investigated because it was considered necessary for the collusion between the two for the distribution, thus favoring their concealment as well as the trafficking of substances.
Finally, a person was arrested for a crime against public health as he was responsible for the narcotic substances seized, as well as the investigation of the person in charge of the establishment for his alleged participation in a drug trafficking crime, thus deactivating a possible drug point of sale in the indicated establishment and adjacent to the shopping center.
