Info about new restaurant/bar Corralejo
Hi all as l was about to leave Corralejo at the end of my last holiday in October a new restaurant/bar looked like it had almost reached completion and was about to open. This was the new build that was built on the waste land in front of Pesky,s. Just wondering if it did in fact open and if anybody has any thing to report on what sort of establishment it is and any reviews. TIA Chris.

After over 40 days of waiting for parts my car has been repaired by JLR in Las Palmas and I am going over to pick it up tomorrow.

My Range Rover on Feb 21st gave me an engine malfunction message as we were driving to PDR, got back to the villa ok but had to get Land Rover Assist to pick it up and take to Pelican the JLR dealer in Las Palmas. It turned out that a rodent had built a nest using body work insulation material under the engine cover and chewed through a multicore cable and fuel pipe

Question about customs tax
I am still trying to understand the Canary ways, and I must admit—it is harder than I expected.

One thing: I am buying from Amazon Prime - EU vendors etc.
I am often asked for the paperwork, and my parcels stay for a month in Gran Canary.
Sometimes, they ask for custom tax (again, for EU products coming from the EU), and I usually pay a bit more than 25% of their value.

Is this legal? I understand there is a small VAT here (7%); it makes no sense why I need to pay so much tax.
