Has anyone any idea where the taxi company operate from, I tried to get a taxi from a Bar in Caleta last night and was told they do not do pick ups from there  well they did Tuesday last and the previous Friday, I would like to contact them and find out what the issue is

Is it the number 16 which I see on the timetable as going to Gran Tarajal from Puerto. seems just 4 times a day.

I’m sure the car tax for Antigua must be due around now. I have a DD set up for everything else, but not this, and never receive any notification. Does anyone know when it actually is due? Hope I’ve not missed the reduced period!

At a meeting today, the Ayuntamiento de Antigua, have agreed to some changes to the taxes payable in 2021:
- the payment of the table/chairs on terraces tax by businesses is suspended and their payment of the bin tax is suspended
- IBI (house) tax is being reduced to the legal minimum of 0.40% from 0.45%  (whatever that means!)
- vehicle tax is being lowered by 30%.

Hi.Im a visitor staying in Antigua [inland].Last week,and this week so far,rockets/flares have been going off every morning at 7.00am and usually mid day and early eveninmg.At the same time the church bells are ringing and every dog in the vicinity is going crazy.All lasts about five minutes.Can anybody enlighten me as to what its all about,and how much longer it night go on for?

It’s just occurred to me that I’ve not yet paid my car tax this year. I normally call into the Ayuntamiento office in Caleta de Fuste, but have not heard any ‘chatter’ about it being collected yet - we normally get the two months to pay at the reduced rate, which I may have missed?

The Antigua Carnival in 2022 will be celebrated from 17-27 February 2022.
Monday 21 February will be the Carnival Holiday day.
The Carnival is usually in Caleta de Fuste over the last weekend.
