Does anyone know how long a bank cheque is valid for?
We picked up a cheque from our branch in Gran Tarajal (speak little English) as part payment for a property purchase (private sale) and there has been a delay in signing the contract.
I sent an e-mail to the bank and they said contact the branch - DOH
I always imagined that a cheque was valid for 6 months universally but does anyone know for sure?

I bought RA tickets using my Spanish bank card. Does anyone know if Spanish bank cards have chargeback?

Anyone else had a letter from their bank asking you to go into your local branch to verify your ID recently - for anti Money laundering reasons? 
Just received one from Caixa Bank that says if we don't physically go in and present our ID documents by 19th of this month, the account goes into limp mode where you can't withdraw Money or transfer in or out; although they will continue to pay your bills until the Money runs out. Unfortunately after three years of fee-free Banking with Bankia I am faced with large fees from mid November so need to make alternative arrangements. Like many non-residents I only need an account for DDs with Comunidad, electricity (Endesa), water (CAAF) and council taxes (La Oliva). I can manage cash in other ways.
