Red Cross celebrates 150 years in the Canary Islands.

Today, April 1st, the Red Cross celebrates 150 years in the Canary Islands. The Cabildo of Fuerteventura has recalled that the humanitarian institution arrived on the islands in 1874, developing since then an intense activity and being present in all important Events and emergencies.



Currently, the Canary Islands Red Cross has more than 20,000 volunteers. In 2023, they served more than 137,000 people, with 48.5%
