Exchange from UK to Spanish driving licence
I know it's a well-worn subject in other internet places, but can I ask if anyone on here has exchanged their uk driving licence for a Spanish one? If so, could you give a simple summary of the steps/process you followed? I know the pros/cons and the rules that govern when you should do it so I'm not trying to ignite that debate, I just want to be clear about where to go in the first instance, what to take with me etc. Many thanks, in advance!

Medical for driving licence exchange?
A slightly different tack on driving licences, so thought I would open a separate thread. I have my cita previa arranged to exchange my UK driving licence for a Spanish one - it’s something I do have to do in my particular circumstances. It’s not clear, however, whether the medical certificate is required for a straightforward ‘canje’. It’s not included in the list required on the DGT site, yet I know others who have obtained it first and not had it rejected as not required. Scanning

Buying unfinished house in a rural area - obtaining a licence of the first occupation
Question asked on the Darkside
" I am interested to buy an unfinished villa from a Real Estate agent. It has a building permit but needs finishing and obtaining a licence of the first occupation. My concern is the fact that the actual size of the villa is bigger than projected size, although the agent says that it’s common practice for neighbouring houses, and all the townhall is interested in is that someone finishes it. It’s located in a rural area. Any tips, does it sound common to

UK driving licence post brexit
As many know, we (residents) should have swapped UK licences for Spanish ones prior to 'B' day. Which is what I did. However I recently met two people who didn't for various reasons. One of whom has just been 'done' by the Guardia. The other person's situation seems rather unfortunate, as they are European but lived in the UK for a while and swapped their countries licence for a UK one. Not being British they weren't so Brexit aware as UK nationals. So they seem to be in rather an unfortunate

Renewing Spanish Driving Licence - over 65s
I read on the DGT website that renewing your Spanish Driving Licence after age 65 is fairly simple, and so it proved!
You can start the process up to 3 months before the old one expires.
You choose one of the approved Medical Centres who will do your medical tests AND they will process all the paperwork for you! If you are 70 you only pay the cost of the medical, (45€) no tax and no fee for processing. The medical centre even does your photo! You don't need an appointment - just go in.

Driving Licence Fiasco
For those of you that still might not be aware, the Driving Licence Exchange fiasco has still not been resolved.
This means that anyone planning to Reside permanently in the Canary Islands or the rest of Spain will not be able to drive on their U.K. Driving Licence and will be required to take the Spanish Driving Test.
Although talks are continuing between the U.K. and Spain to allow the exchange of driving licences, a solution has yet to be agreed.
This issue does not affect U.K. visitors
