AENA, the Spanish airport authority, is offering reduced passenger tariffs for flights to the Canaries and the Balaerics following the collapse of Thomas Cook. It's aim is to encourage more flights.

419,214 passengers (Arrivals & Departures) passed through the airport in January 2020. That is a 5.4% decrease compared to January 2019. The number of flights, 3635, was down 9.3%.

Lanzarote had a drop of 7.1% and Tenerife South 6.8% in the same month.

There were 90,111 passengers (Arrivals and Departures) through Fuerteventura airport in January 2021. That is a 78.5% drop compared to January 2020.

There were 1528 flights during the month, which is a 58% decrease compared to 2020.

Is it compulsory/good idea to have this or is it no longer a requirement?
