Hello! We have just exchanged contracts on a villa here. We will be in Lajares 😊 Very exciting! We are moving from UK and will need to apply for residency. My husband Bill has EU passport which means we do not need NLV. We know we need private healthcare and are currently looking at Sanitas. Is there anyone on here that has gained residency on the back of their spouse being a European national. My daughters application for residency as her husband has a European passport was lodged on 9th December 2024. As to date we have heard nothing, we are using a reputable company for the application, despite them twice inquiring they are just getting ignored. She cannot work or leave the island which is getting really frustrating for them.

I’ve previously found and downloaded my certificate of fiscal residency, used to get HMRC to allow me zero-rate for UK income tax. I now need to do the same for my wife, but find that the Agencia Tributaria website after Digital Certificate access has changed dramatically! I’m not keen on fishing about in the AT system, so I’m just wondering if anyone has more recent experience/expertise, and can tell me where to find the necessary document? Many thanks!
