UK Private pensions paid direct to Spanish bank account - charges!
Hi
Just wondering, does anyone get a private pension from the UK paid directly into their Spanish bank account and if so, what exchange rate is used (good/bad/indifferent) and do you get charged for this service?
I've enquired with one pension scheme - they use current 'bank exchange rate' and want to charge £20 for each transfer. This would leave me much worse off than receiving the Money into UK account and transferring via Wise.
Thanks for any info - please don't give personal details et

Renewing UK passport from Fuerteventura online
Hi guys
Has anyone renewed their UK passport recently, from Fuerteventura, using the online system? The system seems straightforward, I'm quite happy to do it this way, but I'm trying to find out how long it is taking for the new one to be received out here. So how long and which postal service does it arrive by?

Advice on Spanish wills for UK residents in Spain
Folks, hopefully I can offer something useful back now instead of just asking questions!

There seems to be a lot of confusion over succession laws i.e. who you can leave Money to in your will. This is known legally as 'freedom of testamentary disposition'.

[size=small]In Spain, there is no such freedom by default, and children and the spouse of the deceased can be the 'forced heirs' of the deceased.  Because of this, even if you make a will in Spain

UK TV advice for new residents
Hello - I just made an offer on a property in Fuerteventura and I wanted to get any advice on TV set-up.  I'm not too bothered about having live UK TV channels, however I'd like to be able to use iPlayer, itvX, Channel 4 etc on a Smart TV that I'll purchase locally.

From the research I've done it seems like my simplest solution would be to buy an Android Smart TV e.g. Sony and then download the Nord VPN app (I'm already a subscriber).  I think it may be as simple as that - does anyone have

Posting to UK YOUR HELP PLEASE!
Hi there.  My family and I recently stayed at the Bahia Secrets Hotel in Corralejo.  Whilst we we there I gave my daughter a gift to celebrate her A level results.  It was a small pack with three bracelet charms.  She left it behind at the hotel but we made contact and the hotel have the pack.  The only problem is that it will cost at least £60 to get this sent to me in the UK.  The charms only cost £80!  So, I thought I would ask this forum to see if anyone is able to help please?  Do

UK TV apps and NordVPN
Hi All,

If I install all the usual UK tv apps (iplayer, etc) on to a Google Chromecast and subscribe to NordVPN Plus and install that app on the Chromecast too, can I be pretty confident that with a decent internet connection over there I should be able to get uk television ?

I’ve always managed to get uk tv without a VPN, most recently with the teeveeing app but maybe it’s time to go down the Nord route ?

Many thanks for any help.

Seeking UK bank account
Hi,

We are permanently settled in Fuerteventura and have just sold our former home in the UK. We need to open another bank account in the UK to deposit part of the purchase price. Our current bank will have the maximum under the FSC bank compensation scheme, so don't want to put it in there. Any British residents who can recommend a UK bank that will open a easy access savings account for us ex-pats?

Thanks in anticipation.

Tom.
