I have just seen photos of a huge sperm whale (on Facebook) spotted in Fuerte over the weekend. Unfortunately it doesn't say where exactly it was.

The sperm whale or cachalot is the largest toothed whale, with adult males measuring up to 20.5 metres long and weighing up to 57,000 kg.

Rescued a whale trapped in Fuerteventura.

The animal had several wounds and was entangled in a rope that prevented it from moving.




A whale was rescued on Monday in the south of Fuerteventura. The cetacean was entangled in a cape and was released by César Espino, who already in 2016 rescued another whale in a similar situation.



It was a recreational boat of the company Fuerteventura Full Experience that spotted the animal and came to its aid.
