After The Rain

This plant has burst into bloom along the sides of the road today:

Loads of this tiny little plant has appeared and burst into bloom:




Is that by any chance sea rocket (Cakile maritima)? If it is, it should be edible.

Thanks GMT, I'll look up your suggestion and see if I can confirm. I feel another sacrifice for the forum coming on if it's meant to be edible …………….  

Today I noticed the prickly pear were rejuvenating:


and this one seems to be going straight to flowering/fruiting:


Not something I'd have in my garden by the way, lethal, just a place I go past on my dog walks.

The Tabaiba plants (Euphorbia family) are standing out like beacons in the countryside as their lime green blooms fill out:



The best view of these, in my opinion, is the south face of the volcano on Lobos which is nearly entirely covered, stunning. Pic next year hopefully!

Spotted in La Oliva today growing in the edge of the pavement:

  

flower is like a convolvulus, very pretty.

It's that time again when stuff miraculously springs to life after some rain. I'm not expecting too much this year as none of the showers have been heavy enough to really soak into the ground.

This Ugly bush has put out leaves virtually overnight:

some pretty little weeds by the side of a friend's drive:



Earlier this year the Cabildo decided to clear the weed from the sides of our lanes which was fair enough as in places the weed was almost meeting in the middle. But, they went rather over the top, scraping 2m each side with a bulldozer! The only thing that has survived is a few tough roots of the barbed wire plant. No dune crocus, no orange bluebells, no marguerite daisy, no echinacea. It's also a favourite feeding area for Houbara and Stone Curlews, the rain collected in the shallow gullies either side of the road and the plant life was more vigorous.  Shame on the Cabildo.

Today I took some pics of the new growth and managed to ID it through PlantNet app on my phone:
 

Turns out it's a variety of Cuscuta (aka Doddy) a parasitic plant.
