In 2015 we've decided to change 16 (small-ish) glass units and I sent an email to seven companies, manufacturing aluminium doors and windows on the island. In English. Politely asked for a quote of the 16 units and mentioned a type of glass I would like to use. I'm still waiting for replies from three of them

I do like to contact more companies over the email because is just easy to copy/paste the same text and I can judge how will they provide their service once I get some replies. In this case it saved us lot's of time and some Money too.

David was very professional, swift replies, great English and explained that toughened glass is manufactured only in GC and can get pretty expensive on the island. He even offered to pop down to us and take the measurements on his own. We did choose another company just because they were/are located  closer to us and we do like to support local economy anytime we have a change.

Enrique was again, professional, replied promptly with good English. He also created four quotes with different options and was able to stick to the schedule we had. Being located in El Matorral made things easy and we have even been offered a free delivery which I denied as I wanted to see the manufacturing workshop on my own

I don't give up that easily so used Google Translator and replied with the translated text. Got a reply with my quote, asking more Money than the two aforementioned companies combined. Not sure if their prices are that high or they wasn't interested in selling glass without the aluminium framework.

That's why I sent the email to seven different companies. Feeding the greedy ones would make the problem even worst. Money should have the same value, whatever language you speak.

We have also used tecfuer, Enrique is very good as are his workmen. We sent him an email and he was on our doorstep within a hour as he was in the neighbourhood.
He said he could make and fit an aluminium door in a specific colour in 3 weeks, and he did. So we used him again for glass doors and sliding doors. His quote was for various thickness of double glazing and a few years on have had no problems.

Thanks for this, I will email them with the relevant sizes and see what quotes they come back with.
I also believe that El Norte in Corralejo can provide double glazed aluminium windows.
