Sorry John, never parked at ACE airport just wanted to ask if you've considered flying to Lanzarote instead? Not sure if I would be comfortable with leaving new car at the airport carpark for such a long period of time.

You've got me intrigued Sam! Flying to Lanzarote? From where? FUE to Gran Canaria and then GC to Lanza?
Parking at Lanza airport is 55-60€ for a couple of weeks if prebooked: https://parking.aena.es/reservas/web/disponibilidad.ac I've flown from Lanza a couple of times but decided not to take my car over. Instead I caught the ferry as a foot passenger and then the bus. Coming back the flight was late in and I had to get a taxi down to Playa Blanca in order to catch the last ferry back - I can't remember how much but the taxi wasn't cheap. WMG - have you looked at flights from GC or Tenerife North? That's sometimes a better/easier/cheaper option than ACE when you take all the other bits into consideration. Or, fly to mainland Spain and on from there. Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

Thanks for the replies, it looks like it may have to be Lanzarote.
We plan to fly BA / OneWorld partner long haul through Gatwick and to get to Gatwick from here on one ticket with bags checked through to our long haul destination it appears the only option without the hassle of transferring from Heathrow to Gatwick is via Lanzarote direct to Gatwick. Last two occasions to South Africa and again in January our long haul flight start at Heathrow so have been able to fly there from here via Madrid Iberia / BA. There is a Land Rover Garage on the estate opposite Lanza airport so I might check about leaving the car there.

I know, it sounds like terrible idea but the flight to LPA is shorter than diving up to Corralejo. Anyway, I wasn't worried about the time, nor Money as much as the car ![]() And I agree, GC or Mainland airport is always much better idea and we do at least 50% of our flights this way. Talking about flights to Lanzarote, I've seen a direct flight from ACE (last time in October). Small-ish plane, arriving to Fuerteventura pretty early - between 7am and 8am. Not sure if it's commercial neither. Anyone knows anything about it?

I'm pretty sure I remember reading about a flight from Poland or Czech or somewhere like that that goes to ACE and FUE as not enough passengers for just the one destination. Perhaps that was it?

I do not know the situation here John, but in the UK there would be an insurance issue with leaving it at a garage, as the vehicle would not belong to them or booked into them for some job, so would not be covered by their insurance, but worth a try, but anyway good luck and have a good trip.

Perhaps that was it? Definitely not it. There used to be Austrian Airlines' flights from Vienna going the same route and TUI flights from Brussels. Anyway, this plane I'm talking about was much smaller than the usual plane from Europe.
