Car tax, Antigua

Not sure how many left on here, but in the past it’s been the site for accurate info. Once again, I’ve reached the end of October without thinking about paying my car tax, Antigua. I’ve had no email notice, but looking at the Ayuntamiento website I get the impression the voluntary period ended today, 31 October 2025. Previously it’s been running into November…but I see those with DD have had the charge taken. Has anyone one here been down to pay personally in Caleta? The website claims there is an electronic payment method, but it doesn’t work without an invoice number. Any advice greatly appreciated. I’ll pop down to the Ayuntamiento in Caleta on Monday, see what I can do. I wouldn’t mind, but I’ve sold both cars I need to tax!

I changed my car 2 years ago, ( now living in Tuineje, previously Caleta). Tuineje council office just shrugged shoulders. Then randomly last month a letter appeared to a property I sold 7 years ago! Luckily I know the owner who called me. Letter had a bar code on, so I was able to pay at the bank. So, do check your post box ( or a previous one)

Just paid in Caleta for two cars. Too late for early discount, so €98,20 per car. In and out in three minutes, very efficient, but I’m advised that the chap is only there on Mondays, from 08.30.
