Easyjet will connect Fuerteventura with Lisbon this winter.
Easyjet has announced six new routes between several Spanish cities and Lisbon for the 2022-2023 winter season, in addition to reinforcing the capacity in the existing connection between the Spanish and Portuguese capitals. All in all, it has added around 200,000 additional seats on routes between Spain and Portugal.
The additional capacity implies a 146% increase in the capacity that the airline had planned for this winter, and rises to 283% compared to 2019.
Three of the new connections with Lisbon are with the Canary islands airports of Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife South, which in total accumulate about 60,000 seats.
With 2 weekly frequencies in all three cases, the first two routes start operations on October 31, 2022 and the third on November 2.
The remaining three routes are divided between Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao, which have a total capacity close to 40,000, 30,000 and 20,000 seats respectively.
The first day of activity of the first connection is October 30, 2022 with 4 weekly frequencies; the second route is on November 1 with 3 weekly frequencies and the third link between Bilbao and Lisbon is also on November 1, in this case with 2 weekly frequencies.
With the reinforcement of capacity on the existing route between the Spanish and Portuguese capitals, EasyJet adds about 50,000 additional seats, bringing the total capacity in the connection between Madrid and Lisbon to more than 155,000 seats.
The increase in capacity is accompanied by an increase in the weekly frequency of the route, which increases from 15 to 20 weekly flights.
