Radio Sintonia:
About 250 people will be evicted from Residencial Las Palmeras in Corralejo.
About 250 people will soon be evicted from Residencial Las Palmeras in Corralejo in the municipality of La Oliva.
In a statement sent to Radio Sintonía, a new mass eviction is reported this time in Fuerteventura, Corralejo in the Residencial Las Palmeras between July 24 and 27. It will affect at least 146 homes "could be more because the legal opacity is capital" in which, it is added" live more than 250 people including niñ@s, ancian@s and pregnant women, among which are people in a situation of accredited vulnerability and without housing alternative, in favor of the benefit of on the one hand a company with a share capital of 2,000,000 euros and on the other that of a large real estate composed of the Santander bank and the mega vulture fund Blackstone that, as immense holders are dedicated to amassing astronomical profits with a fundamental good that is denied to more and more population, to which we propose what role are the public authorities developing in the arbitrations between those interests and that of the tenants?
Spaces once abandoned
In the note they assure that "in this case as in so many others the neighbors were inhabiting those spaces when they were abandoned and in a dilapidated state, turning it into their homes before the purchase by Novo Canarias and Aliseda. We are talking about the tip of the iceberg of a generalized offensive against the less favored sectors of the working class against a business niche in which speculation and other fraudulent activities run rampant, inflating more and more another new economic bubble that, like the previous one, promises that we will end up paying for it with public Money.
Right to housing
They consider that "the essential and fundamental right to housing is systematically violated, which the media apparatus (especially the private but also the public) is responsible for laundering by presenting on the screens families and individuals who the vast majority of the time live a dramatic situation as profiteers, vandals or almost public enemies, thus protecting the interests of those who pay for these campaigns of discredit and criminalization that affect moment, we insist, to the most unprotected sectors of the workers."
Citizen support
Finally, "we appeal to society as a whole, especially to those who suffer from this social scourge and encourage them to support these neighbors who are currently living this unbearable situation; Today they are ell@s and tomorrow they will be otr@s being able to touch yourself."
