According to Juan Carlos Díaz Lorenzo in the specialized magazine Puente de Mando, "after its last trip in the service of Finnlines on the Turku-Travemunte line, the Finnish-flagged ship "Finnkraft" sails towards the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where it is scheduled to arrive on April 1 for delivery to Fred. Olsen." On arrival it will be renamed "Bentayga" and flag bearer in Spain.
The forecast of the Spanish-Norwegian company is that the aforementioned vessel will enter service in the month of May, providing ro-ro cargo service to the eastern islands. This is the first of two vessels acquired from Finnlines. The second will arrive before the end of the year.
Built in China and in service since November 2000, it is a vessel of 11,530 gross tons and 8,050 dwt, with its main dimensions being 162.20 m in overall length, 20.60 m in beam and 6.60 m in maximum draft. It has a garage with capacity for 1,891 linear metres of ro-ro cargo and accommodation for 12 drivers. It is powered by a MAN 12V48/60 engine, with an output of 12,600 kW on one axle and maintains a speed of 18 knots. IMO code 9207883.
