Hi Donald,
Don’t see you on here much. How have you been ? Still enjoying Fuerte I hope 😁😁
We just came back from there a few wks ago & next trip is mid January but have to pop out for a wk at the end of this month to sort out the stupid identification for the bank account. They always manage to do it just after we have got back 😡😡

Good to hear from you Ron...haven't been on the island much this year. Went to Cuba in January and Key West in June. Coming over on the 24th for a couple of weeks...if you are about I'll buy you a beer   Thumbs Up

Tried to change our IBI & Basra to my Revolut account today at the ayuntamiento office in Antigua but no go. Has to be a Spanish account ☹️☹️ So that knocks getting rid of the Caixiabank account on the head. Costs about 200€ a year for the account, just to pay bills 😡😡

Have you considered Sabadell? Costs us €24 a quarter, so €96 annually. They're pretty good about providing customer service in English in the branch, I have been able to deal with them by phone in English also, and their all-English app isn't too bad, either. Might be an option to look into as it seems it might half your costs?

Totally agree with Ducks Ron, we have been with them for 5 years now with no problems, we pay nothing other than about 20€ annually for a debit card, but that is because we are residents.

Thanks all. Yeah, want it as DD so it’s paid on time as we might not be out then. The bank account is the same Ducks, 4 times 24€ for servicing, then 2 non residents certificates at 23 or 24 each then a charge for the debit card (which we never use) of about 23 or 24 again so maybe not full 200€ but damn close 🤕🤕
All in all, the costs of keeping the bank account would pretty much pay our IBI & Basura but looks like it’s not to be 😩😩
