More than 13 million euros are allocated to the improvement of irrigation in Fuerteventura.
The Board of Directors of the State Society of Agricultural Infrastructures (SEIASA), held on December 30, 2022, has agreed to authorize the signing of five regulatory agreements for the financing, construction, delivery, reception and environmental monitoring of five new actions of modernization and consolidation of irrigation promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in the Canary Islands.
These are actions contained in the 'Agreement between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Sociedad Mercantil Estatal de Infraestructuras Agrarias S.A., in relation to the modernization works of the "Plan for the improvement of efficiency and sustainability in irrigation" included in the Plan for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience of the Economy. Phase II', signed on July 21, 2022 between the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas Puchades and the president of SEIASA, Francisco Rodríguez Mulero. The authorized agreements have been addressed to the islands of Lanzarote, Tenerife, La Palma and Fuerteventura, the latter receiving 13,205,000 euros for the financing, construction, delivery, reception and environmental monitoring of the modernization and consolidation works of the irrigation of the Water Supply Consortium to Fuerteventura.
The signing of these agreements will involve a joint investment of 49,312,000 euros (IGIC not included) in the Canary Islands under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan Phase II of the Government of Spain.
