Thanks for all the replies the email a picture to the phone idea sounds good might try that as well. However, still going to go with trying the full-size iPad boarding pass as an experiment as it would be much easier on future trips. Have plenty of backups now just in case.

I certainly will. Now next question how do you smuggle an iPad into prison???? (no internal suggestions thank you!!) Drone seems a possibility.

Bribe the guard maybe get somebody to smuggle it in buried in a big bag of porridge. Or the traditional way, baked in a cake along with the file and rope.
