On the radio news yesterday there was an item about the£1billion+ loss Thomas Cook had made.
In part TC reported that they put it down to the down turn in Winter trade to the Canaries due the increased prices, that doesn't make sense when all the other islands are reporting increases in passenger numbers.

I was looking at Ryanair & Jet 2 flight costs for September to November for our next visit. Going on what some people have said, I also looked at flights to Lanzarote & GC, can’t say I see any significant differences between the islands tbh so unless it is full holiday costs or hotel costs, I can’t see where the differences are being made !!

I think it is the year on year increases compared to say Turkey or Egypt plus I think it is the accommodation costs increases for hotels and holiday lets.

I love it. 😍👍 Hi Sam, It has been said that May is a quiet month but if it is possible to actually sense how much quieter it is then I think it’s even worse than I said !! Yeah, it’s great that the roads through Caleta are better, they were getting to be quite a delay at times. I suppose it a bit of “how full do you see your glass”,lol. Personally, I think if things continue like this for any significant length of time we could all have problems. Businesses will suffer & airlines may pull the plug on some routes or frequencies if they struggle to fill the planes & that is defo not good IMHO

We were in Mercadona midafternoon yesterday, which is unusual as we normally shop in the morning, I do not think there were 30 cars in the car park, I always thought the Spaniards shopped in the afternoons { when they are not sleeping

One thing I noticed is the reduced number of international holiday company flights arriving into Fuerteventura. On Wednesday last only a couple of Thomas Cook and one Condor I think. Tui had very few also. As Wednesday and Saturday is traditionally changeover day it seemed there were very few blue tails, however I will see on Saturday if things improve. Of course it was business as usual with Ryanair EasyJet etc.

When looking at the list don't forget there are code share flights indicated by red arrows on the left column by the flight number which mean that one plane is catering for a number of partner airlines.

Something I noticed today, I was in the barbers waiting to get my haircut and was reading the Irish Independent a national newspaper. There was a holiday supplement and a number of package holidays. There were plenty for Tenerife, Lanzarote, and Grand Canaria. Not a single package holiday to Fuerteventura on offer. I wonder why ???.
Is this another example of low numbers, has the tourism department of Fuerteventura not been doing their jobs properly?.
