Hi All
Not long to go now before our next visit and I am looking for locations that we have never done.
Has anyone used the beach at Mal Nombre in front of the Tierra Dorada restaurant / beach bar? It looks like you need a slightly happy go lucky attitude with respect to your hire car, but looking on street view, quite a lot of people go down there.
Question. is it worth the effort from a naturist viewpoint?

I don't remember any issues.
It's a very unusual looking area. I guess it's the rocks.
But perfectly fine for naturists.

As with anywhere on Fuerteventura. I am certain you will be able to go naked there with no issues.
That is a small part of the coast line that I haven't walked naked, purely due to time constraints. I have been naked on most of the beaches from Moro Jable upwards to Sotavento in the south and of course Corelajeo and El Cotillo in the north.
I have always been accepted as a nudist on all beaches on this beautiful Island even if the majority were textiles.
If you are looking to be among other nudists close to Mal Nombre, I would recommend, what on Google maps is listed as "Plaza kolo wydmy" absolutely check your car hire agreement before going here, the road down to the car park is to be taken with caution, but there are a lot of nudists to the right of the car park.
Have fun and I'm jealous. stuck here in the UK for the moment.
Cheers
P.S. Have you done Cofete? See my video before you do, it was the one place our motorhome hire company said we couldn't go to LOL but as a professional 7.5T licenced driver I did ...... but probably a good restriction for many drivers.

OT
The access to that strangely named place, seems to be at the El Salmo mirador. I have been up there a few times to try and photograph the iconic Fuerteventura beach view. I can only remember a footpath heading down, but Google Earth clearly shows a dirt track. I think that I will try my original plan first, as the track seems to be tarmac most of the way. Also there are sun loungers to be had, and facilities at the restaurant.
The location you mentioned, is only a short walk away up the beach
Yes, I have done Cofete, an incredible location. However, we like to swim in the sea, which is a realy bad idea there
Will. Yes it does look unusual, but it’s the ghost hotel on the way down that spooks me! We went there in the car years ago, but turned back at the hotel.
Will report back in October

Years ago I walked to Mal Nombre from Morro Jable. Most of it naked Nobody cared. Most didn't even notice.
It is a long walk and you need to think if the tide is in or out.

I have driven down there a couple of times no problem apart from dodging the potholes, parking is above the beach bar which is handy and I think they control the sun beds close bye.
See Google earth screen shots -

Mal Nombre is perfectly accessible, turn off the FV-2 at junction 77, follow the road down a steepish hill to the parking behind the Tierra Dorada beach bar. It's a nice beach, because it has facilities, and it's good for naturists. The exit road loops round to the south and is essentially one-way. There are sunloungers for rent on the beach, the ones north of Tierra Dorada beach bar tend to be naturist, but you'll find naturists on the others too. The beach is sandy (unless storms have revealed the underlying rocks!). Try the sizzling prawns in the beach bar.
The beach which Old Todger referred to as "Plaza kolo wydmy" is basically Sotavento. It's a great beach, lots of naturists, zero facilities. Certainly my favourite beach in Fuerteventura, if not in Europe! You get there by driving north on a dirt track from the El Salmo mirador, then following the track as it loops around and descends. There's lots of space in the car park. I'll add a pic of this beach...

Thanks Bedouin.
The Mrs is looking forward to the sizzling prawns that others have recommended on Trip Advisor. Hope we are lucky with the state of the beach, I have seen first hand what the Atlantic can do on the nearby Esquinzo beach. A lot of the stock photos on the internet show very different states of the same beach.

The road down to Tierra Dorada is tight enough, potholed & not a huge amount of parking available when you get down there but we’ve always managed to get a spot, haven’t eaten there but can confirm that the barman has a generous pour if you like a cocktail,
We’ve walked a number of times too from the Royal Palm to the start of that beach & then turn back, I like it there,
In my experience, the immediate vicinity of the beach bar, the stone circles were mostly textile 70/30 & once you cross over the stoney bit , you’re good to go, didn’t take any notice of the sunbed situation tbh, the beach as a whole is nude friendly imo & space isn’t a problem, all previous visits have been in mid October

Maybe, but in a Fiat 500, the chances of a mishap seemed too much for my liking. We turned off and drove down the South side of the abandoned hotel and did a snap left at the Tierra Dorada sign and headed down the steepish hill, all good until we got to the south east corner of the hotel where there was a huge pothole roughly filled with rubble. Didn’t think the car had enough ground clearance, so did a turn around and headed back.
We eventually got to the Tierra Dorada using the exit road after seeing a camper van do it
Didn't do a beach day, just lunch at the bar and some photos. Will return later in the week.
