Where is this Mad Max village located? I've never heard of this place before! 

To be fair, though, £200k for a two-bed up North isn't an impossibility— they were offered 3 different options in Corrie below that price point on the show. They just didn't like any of them for various reasons.

I am with CTM on this, £20,000 on renovations was a stupid statement, I will accept that they had a closer inspection than the viewers, but that is a lot of Money, we had a 3m X 4m extension built on to our property with a Pan Tile roof, retiled the kitchen and a bathroom, replaced nearly all the furniture, including Oven, fridge, freezer, ceramic hob ETC and it did not come anywhere near £20K the Guy was a chancer and IMHO never had any intention of buying a property.

Depends hugely on where you go and what standard of finish and fittings you want, though. Full kitchen refit + two bathrooms + tiling throughout to standardise flooring + painting + furniture replacement should surely come close to that? Especially if you want to do anything like replacing windows or doors.

If people wanted to 20K could just be the kitchen cabinets. Not my cabinets   but it's not hard to spend a lot on a kitchen. 

If the asking price was 250K last year with all that has happened 200k isn't unreasonable today.  Many places in Spain have dropped more than 20% and are still not selling.

Now, where in my post did I say "Full kitchen refit + two bathrooms + tiling throughout to standardise flooring + painting " ? we retiled the bathroom and kitchen because they were not to our taste the tiles were a special order and came from Milan there is no mention of floor tiling because it was not required all of the furniture came from Centrrogar or Norty Sur and is as good a quality as was available, the extension has 3 sliding window units, and I still maintain it came nowhere near to £20K

Sorry for the misunderstanding; I was referring to the house that was for sale, not your works. That's what I would want to change if purchasing that house, and  I don't think 20k would be an unreasonable budget to set for all the above.

Thanks, I can see it now. Really must go down that side of the island some time— we've never been past Costa Calma. No Street View, but there is one 360 image where you can see the camp from a slight distance away. Can't believe how close the houses in the little village are to the water! They look like they've been around for a long time, though, so I guess they're not going anywhere...

You're missing a lot Ducks. Sotavento/whole Jandia & Morro Jable is a must visit. Further down (past Morro Jable), once you'll hit the dirt road, there's no insurance cover for your rented car and you can chance it (done it quite a few times) or take a 4x4 bus ride - Bus 111 Línea Morro Jable – Cofete – Punta de Jandia.

We always say "we'll do such and such" and then never get around to it, the way you do when you live in a place and know you'll have time later... I think that's a sign that we're not just tourists anymore!   Didn't realise there was a bus for that; will give it a look next time we're over, cheers.

Scale of 1 to 10— how bumpy is that bus ride? We had family over last year and did a tour around the dunes up North to entertain them. Beautiful, amazing scenery, and I was very glad we went... But three of the four of us said they would not go again due to the aggravation on various injuries from all the bumping around!
